Online Advertising Policy

Purpose

BuildASoil values strong partnerships with our wholesale stores and supports efforts to promote local availability of products. This policy exists to prevent internal competition, rising advertising costs, and customer confusion caused by overlapping paid search campaigns.

General Advertising Guidelines

Retail partners are encouraged to:

  • Promote their own store and brand
  • Highlight local availability of BuildASoil products
  • Advertise BuildASoil products through organic search, in-store marketing, email, and social media

Paid Search & Keyword Advertising Policy

To protect the BuildASoil brand and ensure fair marketing practices, retail partners may not run paid advertisements that bid on BuildASoil branded or product-specific keywords.

Prohibited Activities

Retail partners may not:

  • Bid on the keyword “BuildASoil” or any variation (including misspellings)
  • Bid on BuildASoil.com
  • Bid on BuildASoil product names (including soil blends, amendments, or branded product lines)
  • Run paid ads designed to intercept or redirect traffic intended for BuildASoil directly

This restriction applies to, but is not limited to:

  • Google Ads
  • Bing Ads
  • Any other paid search or keyword-based advertising platform

Allowed Activities

Retail partners may:

  • Advertise their store name or brand
  • Run ads promoting local availability without bidding on BuildASoil branded terms
    • Example: “Organic Soil Available in [City] at [Store Name]”
  • Promote BuildASoil products through:
    • Organic search results
    • Social media posts and ads (non-keyword based)
    • Email marketing
    • In-store signage and promotions

Compliance & Enforcement

Retail partners are expected to comply with this policy at all times.

If a violation is identified:

  • BuildASoil will notify the retailer and request the ads be paused or corrected
  • Continued non-compliance may result in:
    • Suspension of wholesale ordering privileges
    • Review of authorized retailer status

BuildASoil reserves the right to update or modify this policy at any time. The most current version will always be available on our website.
